The Team at CP&DI

Dr. Shawna Baxter received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA and her DMD degree from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, AZ. Prior to college and dental school Dr. Baxter was a dental assistant in a periodontal office where she discovered her passion for helping patients attain their best oral health. This led her to pursue post-doctoral training in periodontics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in Pittsburgh, PA. 

Following residency Dr. Baxter made her way to South Carolina with her dental school sweetheart and now husband Dr. Elliot Haybarger. They both fell in love with the Upstate immediately and planted their roots by beginning their dental practices. Dr. Baxter finds joy in giving back to her new community as often as possible. This has prompted her to join the Junior League of Spartanburg as well as to volunteer regularly at Miracle Hill Rescue Mission of Spartanburg, providing dental services to those in need.
